Comments: BEWARE!!!! Ronald Lu is a very good con man and tried scam me out of my Macbook Pro. He looks like a old and innocent asian man but that is what makes you feel comfortable enough to let your guard down. He emailed me about a computer I had for sale and asked me to meet him in Downtown LA so he could look at the computer. I explained to him on the phone and in my ad cash only. We met at the designated meeting point and he decided he wanted the computer but would like to go to apple to check the warranty and to make sure I was the true owner. I followed him to the apple store closer to his home in Pasadena, further out of my way but I wasn't busy that day and wanted to sell the computer so I agreed. After apple assured him the warranty on the computer was fine and I was the owner. The next turn of events is where the scam comes in. First he claims he has to go to the ATM to get cash but then comes back and says the ATM wont give him 1500.00
dollars and will I let him use my computer to pay me with Paypal. I explained to him that like we discussed I would accept cash only and that since he used a B of A ATM we could go to B of A down the street. We walked to the bank but before he went in he stated : I dont have that much cash in B of A but I will get it from a stock account credit card I have" I should have figured it out then! Why would he go to a ATM and try and take money out of a account that didnt have that much money in it or how can he paypal me from his real paypal account if it didnt actually have the funds in the account? When he returned from inside the bank he informed me that they would'nt allow him to have any money from his stock account card. I have a account that I use for day trading so I know how it works so I asked him who his stock account is with and he stated Charles Schwab. I saw a Charles Schwab office down the street and told him we could go there and see what they say about giving him access to his funds. Once inside he wanted to wire money into my account I said ok but we would need to go across the street to my bank to make sure the funds were in my account. He then wanted me to put the computer in his possession before he actually wired the money. I explained to him the computer is in the trunk of my car and that I would let him hold my car keys until WE went over to my bank and made sure the funds were transfered into my account. He refused that offer and said never mind he did not want to buy it anymore.
